On a damp Saturday morning both teams looked up for this match but it was Wellesbourne who took an early lead with their first attack of the game, 1-0. Balsall took the centre kick but Wellesbourne were quick to attack and spent much of the half in the Balsall penalty area and could have scored had it not been for the good defending of Joe Butler who had clearly had an early night and was working wel with Joe Franklin. Wellesbourne did score with seconds to go befor half time, 2-0. Second half started good with some good football from Balsall with a strong shot from Jenson Jones being blocked. The good football was rewarded with a good finish from Joe Hunt, 2-1. Wellesbourne came back strong with some good hands from Ross in goal, their persistance paid off making it 3-1. Balsall kept their concentration and determination and made it 3-2 with a cracking header from Joe Hunt. Balsall won the ball from the centre and continued to attack with some great runs from Cameron, a free kick was awarded just outside the box with Joe Franklin delivering the ball to Miles who knocked it across the box to Jamie to slam home, 3-3. With minutes to go Wellesbourne cracked a great free kick off the bar and then with another good attack scored their fourth. With nothing to lose Balsall attacked again and from a shot from Cameron off the post Joe Hunt was there to score his hat trick, 4-4 final score. Joe wide awake Butler man of the match.
